Lighting plays an important role in our everyday life. Even if you have a small studio, you can make it very impressive with the help of lighting. The only precaution is remembering about the limits of the lighting and not making it too excessive. |

You usually don’t spend much time in your bedroom during the day. All you need to do there is prepare for your sleep, read and sleep, get up, groom yourself – and that is it. So, in your bedroom you have a small but quite active period of your wakefulness. That is why the lighting should correspond to all your needs. |

While some people may not like decorative lighting, everyone has some local sources of light. For example, many people need a night lamp – a small lamp with dispersed light that has two important functions: it provides us with lighting during the night and serves as a decorative element of the room in the daytime. |

Another source of local lighting is a bedside lamp that gives us some light while we read, daydream or look at the clock. There are many variants of a bedside lamp – it can be a table lamp, a floor lamp, a wall lamp or recessed lighting. The latter type shouldn’t be placed too low; otherwise it will be able to serve as a night lamp only. The same thing concerns table lamps. |

A floor lamp, a torchier, for example is a very convenient source of lighting because of its independence. It’s perfect for local lighting; moreover, you can create an effective lighting by placing some floor lamps at different spots in the room. |

What concerns the switches, you should have at least two of them in your bedroom: at the entrance and near the bed. It’s not difficult to do, besides it will turn out to be very convenient. You can switch the light on when you enter the room and switch it off when you’re in the bed ready to go to sleep. As you see, local lighting is a necessary attribute of your bedroom, so you should always consider this point when you’re thinking about the lighting in you new bedroom. |
